Pappenheimer Preserve
102 acres in Scotland, CT
Parking: Shoulder parking 584 Devotion Rd, Baltic, CT
Trail Map Trails: 1.5 miles Rating: ★★☆☆☆
The Pappenheimer Preserve is an under-utilitzed remote little hike next to the Mohegan State Forest. Climb the bank next to Rt 14 and head into the woods to the 1 mile yellow lollipop loop. On my last visit in 2016 the trail was passable but a bit rugged and overgrown passing through former timberland.
Off the north side of the loop is a half mile purple loop without much to note.
History:
Preserved in 2005 when it was donated by Sarah and John Pappenheimer.
