Shenipsit Trail – Shenipsit Lake

Shenipsit Lake is a 1.8 mile section of the blue blaze Shenipsit Trail from Rt. 74 to Shenipsit Lake Rd. The largely follows an old rail bed that is within sight of the water, but never gets close. There is one opportunity on a short side trail to reach the water’s edge about halfway down the trail. The trail is flat and easy walking with a couple bridge crossings over small streams.

Boating / Fishing
Fishing is allowed at two designated shoreline spots at the north end of the lake. Boating is restricted to the first 46 oar or electric boats that register at an event usually in early April.
Here is the 2019 information. Boating seems to be temporarily suspended for 2020, though shoreline fishing opened as normal April 11th.
