Rocky Hill Refuge has a blink and you’ll miss it trailhead and honestly you probably should, at least for hiking purposes. The trail is an out and back farm access road to an small old field, but the field is off limits on private property.
On my June 2022 visit I walked through knee high grass down the old farm road. Initially there were some thickets of rhododendrons and many ferns but certainly nothing worth seeking out or worth stopping for the mile round trip.
Let’s just be thankful for the preserved land when it could have been another subdivision.
History:
Preserve in 2016 when it was donated by Bet Zimmerman Smith & Patrick Smith.
