The property is adjacent to Quaddick State Park’s red loop east of Town Farm Road. I suspected there was a connection to the property from the trail when I hiked the park, but only found hints of where it may have been.  This location was actually one of the first I added to the site in 2017 and at the time the land trust said there was a trail in the works.  Indeed a 1 mile trail was completed but has been closed for a couple years now. I don’t know the specifics other than they’ve let it return to nature.

From the Wyndham Land Trust site,

“The majority of the property is oak and white pine, and it is part of a large forest track that extends well into Rhode Island. Barred owls, pine warblers, ovenbirds, and wood thrushes are some of the nesting bird species that have been reported here. Reports of whippoorwills have not been confirmed.”

History:

Protected since 2011 when it was donated by Marie LeClair.  From the Wyndham Land Trust site, “Marie’s husband, Roland, purchased the property in the mid-1950’s,” said Andy Rzeznikiewicz, a member of the Wyndham Land Trust Board of Directors. “Marie enjoyed countless hours hiking around the property with her three beloved dogs. She is happy that this forest will be protected forever.”
