Phillips Pond

Parking: Small lot near Trail 1 Rd, Voluntown, CT

Trail Map       Trails: 3.7 miles       Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Phillip’s Pond is also known as Driscoll’s Pond though I don’t know the origin of either name.

This is a nice picnic area with a short earth dam and man-made spillway waterfall.  The pond is largely overgrown, but there is a small open area for fishing.

Hiking

The Quinebaug Trail passes this area and serves as a nice rest stop.  This section of the trail overlaps heavily with the Enduro Trail so there’s a good chance you’ll pass a dirt bike or two. There are also a couple loop hike options by combining the Quinebaug Trail, red/blue trail, Pachaug Trail, and State Forest roads.
