Joshua’s Trust

21 acres in Mansfield, CT

Parking: Shoulder parking at 76 Browns Rd, Storrs, CT or from Schoolhouse Brook Park

Trail Map       Trails: 0.7 miles    Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Recently expanded trails (2017) to .7 miles that connect Browns Rd, the former Fitch House Bed and Breakfast, and Schoolhouse Brook Park. The main features include a ‘mysterious’ double stone wall and a crossing along Chapin Brook.

I’ve always visted the preserve from Schoolhouse Brook, but saw that shoulder parking was improved on Browns Rd in early 2020.

History:

An old orchard existed on part of the property and a stand of trees that survived a brush with the 1938 hurricane.
