Hiking
Unlike many other places around the state that have lost their hiking trails to the more well traveled disc golf course paths, the trails seem different enough at Nichols field to hold their own. I didn’t hike them on my visit but crossed them a few times while playing the course and they seemed slightly overgrown but easy enough to follow.
I expect I’ll get back here for a proper hike sometime soon.
Disc Golf
This well played 18-hole course is well established and just challenging enough, but it feels long. Hole 17 is a bruiser at 822′. Certainly fun with lots of elevation change in throws off the tee and well placed baskets, many anchored along or into rocks and boulders.
History:
The property was purchased by the town in May 1969.
