Trail Map            Trails: 2 miles          Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Tobiassen Forest has a simple 1.4 mile loop through the forest.  It also has access to the half mile Weigold Trail in Tolland‘s adjacent conservation area.  The route is easy walking with gradually rolling terrain and a number of large trees. There is supposed to be the fourth largest black birch (at least the time) along the trail though I was unsuccessful in identifying it.

History:

Preserved in 1998. The area was originally known as Meeting House Hill and was intended to be the town center, but was later moved to its current spot on Rt 195. Ulysses S. Grant is rumored to have grown up in the area as a boy and his great great grandfather may have owned this property in his time evidenced by Grant Hill Rd.
