Doris and Al Tobiassen Memorial Forest

Tobiassen Forest has a simple 1.4 mile loop through the forest. It also has access to over a mile of trails at the adjacent Weigold and Auperin Conservation Areas. The loop is well traveled in the early stretches but has a handful of rugged patches over rolling terrain.
Hiking
This is a great short loop.
There is supposed to be the fourth largest black birch in the state (at least in 2005) along the trail though I was unsuccessful in identifying it.
History:
Preserved in 1998. The area was originally known as Meeting House Hill and was intended to be the town center, but was later moved to its current spot on Rt 195. Ulysses S. Grant is rumored to have grown up in the area as a boy and his great great grandfather may have owned this property in his time evidenced by Grant Hill Rd.
