From behind the bent gate at his bend of Old Colchester Road a faint path heads down into the woods among tall pines. There is exactly one yellow blaze from the Parks and Rec Hebron Paths but it’s easy enough to follow downhill. At the bottom of the hill is an old pond and a small sign for the 2023 Hebron Parks Passport program. The trail skirts the southeastern edge of the pond, curving around it, and heading uphill again.
From here the trail is supposed to continue off to the left for a lollipop loop of sorts however despite the fairly open understory there wasn’t any clear path to follow. Climbing uphill a bit more on the obvious old road I assume hits the property boundary at the crest of the hill. Fallen trees block the way but from the hill you can see down through the trees to the marsh beyond.
Preserved by the Town of Hebron when it was purchased from Irene Harasimowitz in 2011 for $141,000.
