There are five parcels of town-owned property here Wesleyan Woods, Tynan Park, the north end of Mt. Higby, and two pieces adjacent to Tynan.
This 1.7 mile stretch of the blue blaze Mattabesett Trail is also part of the longer 235 mile New England Trail.
Heading north: 1.2 mile road walk to Highland Pond
Heading south: Mt. Higby
The Town of Middletown purchased 97.74 acres from Wesleyan University for $550,000 in 2008. The town already owned 426.68 acres dating back to 1926, 30.16 acres from 1991. Another 29.02 acres were added in 2012 when Cynthia Joblonski sold her property to the town for $331,500 and 5.65 acres added as a development set aside.
