Trail Map Trails: 1.2 miles Rating: ★★☆☆☆
From the rutted gravel parking area the paved trail heads down into a swampy area alongside the Farmington River and soon forks into a loop. The left fork will take you down riverside with an option to head north and under Rt. 159 to the Windsor Boat Launch.
The right fork heads south and passes a handful of fitness trail stations like a balance beam and pull-up bars installed sometime around 2018. The loop joins next to another wide metal bridge over this wet area along the river. The trail continues Mechanic Street next to a man-made pond.
There was some ice patches on the trail during my January 2023 visit and Steve from CTMQ faced a fair amount of standing water in summer 2019 so be prepared for wet trail most of the year. Aside from that it is a nice short walk along the river that seems pretty popular with locals.
