Another East Haddam property at the end of an abandoned town road, certainly a theme going here. The property features a double loop trail with a nice man-made pond.

Hiking

The trails here are pretty simple, entering from the parking area up what must have been an old driveway at the first fork in the trail is a kiosk highlighting the Urbanik family’s history of the land.  I stayed to the left for a great view of the pond on a gorgeous spring day and sat in the Adirondack chairs taking it in.

I hiked the outer red loop climbing up a hill and along stone walls.  An old farm cart sits out in the woods, its final act as a trail blaze.  The backside of the loop then descends gradually back down the hill to rejoin the blue trail.  You cross over the pond’s feeder stream to a tree line corridor to return to the parking area.
