Trail Map      Trails: None      Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Shipyard Falls along Mine Brook sits right next to the Connecticut River and just below a picturesque bridge.  Driving down Shipyard Rd the road will take a hard left and there will be a small area along the shoulder.  The falls are viewable from the bridge along the road.

The falls pass through a broken dam and plunge at least 20 feet in two major drops.  Mine brook settles below the falls and travels a few hundred feet to join the river.

The area is all private property so please be respectful and leave the area better than you found it so that all can continue to enjoy the view.

History:

This area as the name may suggest was this area was known for its ship building from 1730 to 1880.  They could build about six ships a year and many transported goods from New York City to the West Indies or Europe.
