There are two parking areas for the Miller Farm Preserve, the AP Gates Rd starts on the blue trail and offers a cool boardwalk over a marshy area and the Tater Hill Road puts you right on the main red loop. The preserve is a simple winding woods hike through what are very clearly old farm fields.
Hiking
My winter hike of this property started from the AP Gates side on the blue trail. From a small corral parking lot the trail heads down to a marshy area crossed by a long boardwalk. It was beautiful covered in snow and is likely interesting year-round. It quickly meets up with the red loop.
Due to the snow I took the blue cross-trail to the far end and of the red and did the north half of the red loop. The woods are wide and spacious with open understory. There are a number of trees bent or growing curved to the west which made me curious what event might have occurred to influence these trees.
Without any standout features the hike was a simple easy snowy loop hike.
History:
Preserved in 2018.
