Hebron Center Trail
42.6 acres in Hebron, CT
Parking: Medium sized lot near 66 Wall St Hebron, CT
Trail Map Trails: 1 mile Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
The trail starts in Veterans Memorial Park heading through the woods past the skatepark. The “trail” is actually a gravel access road to town water facilities. After about 1/4 mile the trail turns off the gravel road through trees once more to the mowed backside of a subdivision.
Leaving the houses the trail heads downhill into the woods to cross a nice wooden bridge over a seasonal stream before reaching Main Street/Rt. 66. The trail map suggests using the sidewalks along Main Street to loop back to Veterans Park, but I chose instead to retrace my steps.
The short trail is a nice offering for a casual stroll, but is lackluster in terms of scenic beauty.
History:
The Town of Hebron first purchased the property for Veteran’s Park in 2002 and the other town open space properties were acquired in 2005.
