Union Hill Preserve contains a simple half mile loop starting between Cobalt Health Care and small field. After ducking under a downed tree the trail forks and heads up a small hill in either direction. I took the left and found the trail easy to follow and mostly clear.
The property is certainly a former pasture as it is lined entirely by stonewalls. The back section follows the stonewall closely until it reaches a view off the hill looking east. When I visited in early spring there was enough of a view to get the shape of the land beyond, but that likely closes off once leaves are on the trees.
History:
I haven’t been able to find the significance of the name Union Hill but the property was acquired by the land trust in May 2012.
