Schlaf Farm is a land trust property connecting farm fields, the Somer’s senior center and Woodcrest Elderly Housing.
Contrary to the trail map above I started my hike from Springfield Road next to Knitting Criations and only started tracking after confirming that they were actually trails here.
From the side of the knitting store the trail heads off along the border of a farm field and connects off to the left into the next. I was uncertain that trails really did exist here, but followed the woods line to the far corner of the field to find an entrance into the woods. From here there is a well established trail following the edge of the field until reaching the back side of the senior center.
There are also two trail options leading to either side of the Woodcrest Elderly housing, likely intended to provide walking options for the seniors but it’s clear they are never used based on the fallen trees and general overgrowth of the trail.
