The Mohawk Trail is one of Connecticut’s blue blaze trails maintained by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association. It runs 25.3 miles from Cornwall to Canaan, CT. The trail passes gorgeous ravines, minor summits, and water views
The Mohawk Trail was originally part of the Appalachian Trail before the AT was rerouted west of the Housatonic River in the late 1970s/early 1980s.
Currently I have only hiked portions of the trail so this is an incomplete guide.
There are four overnight backpacking shelters on the trail maintained by the CFPA. The trail is often combined with the Appalachian Trail for an roughly 40 mile multiple-night backpacking loop trip.
