    Meshomasic State Forest began as 70 acres, acquired for $105.00 in 1903 making it the first state forest in Connecticut and the second in the country.

    Today, the ‘Mesh’ as it’s known by it’s fans, is over 9,000 acres criss-crossed with old forest roads, trails, and hidden history.
