Letterboxing Connecticut’s State Forests

29 of 32 Connecticut State Forests have official letterboxes hidden in them. Beginning in 2005, the DEEP began the process of replacing the 30 letterboxes in the original “Centennial Series” with the new letterboxes of the “Seedling Series”.

If you visit at least five of these letterboxes, from either series, you can earn a custom designed Connecticut State Forests Centennial Patch. Proof of your visit will be verified by the stamp record you leave, as well as through your own record book.

When you have visited five or more forests, contact us. The DEEP will verify your visits and send you a patch. If you visit a letterbox in each of the 32 State Forests, they’ll will send you a walking stick!
