Chatfield Trail

Hike the Chatfield Trail

One of Connecticut’s Blue Blaze Trails

The Chatfield Trail runs 4.2 miles across Killingworth following peaceful brooks, passing rocky outcrops and hidden ruins. The trail is dominated by rock features including the highlight Fat Man’s Squeeze about halfway along the trail.

While some sections are slightly more rugged with a rock scramble or two the trail is very easy to follow and well blazed.

I hiked the entire trail in April 2022.

I was somewhat surprised to find that this trail doesn’t have a Fastest Known Time, but it may not have been established before the current requirements.
