    • Bird Field Conservation Area – No Trails, open fields
    • Boothroyd Nature Preserve —★★— 1.75 miles — A shorter loop with a balanced rock and an extended loop with the Bellante Preserve
    • Shenipsit Woods — Connector trail for Soapstone Mountain
    • Sunset Hill —★★— 0.5 miles — Short steep climb up to a picnic area and an even shorter loop
    • Swann Farm —★— 0.5 miles — This loop trail was abandoned as of 11/2024

Somers

    • Bald Mountain Preserve —★★— 2.5 miles — Long gradual climb to a heavily tree’d ridge
    • McCann Family Farm —★★★— 3.5 miles — Rugged trails after a long entry boardwalk
    • Scantic Riparian Area —★★★— 0.5 miles — The real trail here has been abandoned and is now a power line walk
    • Schlaf Farm —★★— 0.5 miles — One trail along the edge of farm fields
    • Skyline Scenic Area —★★— 1.5 miles — Steep climbs and rugged terrain at the Massachusetts border with a seasonal overlook
    • Whitaker Woods —★★★— 4 miles — This hike feels deep in the woods among old pines and high ferns

Stafford

    • Bob White Farm — Private/conservation easement, no trails
    • Culver Pond —★★— 2.5 miles — Surprisingly great trails, if you can make it past the overgrown entry
    • Nipmuck Woods —★★★— 2 miles — Great rugged loop options highlighted by some erratics

Vernon

      • Andrew Kenneth Webster Preserve —★★★— 4 miles — On the ledges above Valley Falls, this preserve offers an overlook and a rugged loop hike
      • Eckers Pond —★★— 1.75 miles — Trails do exist but have largely been subsumed by the disc golf course
      • Indian Trail Preserve — No trails as of 11/2024
      • Talcott Ravine —★★★— 1.2 miles — This ravine hike is highlighted by rich history and a waterfall
