I’ve only snagged the corner of this property while hiking the blue blaze Menunkatuck Trail through here as part of my longer hike of the 235 mile New England Trail. Unfortunately, the New England Trail is largely cropped from Guilford Land Trust maps despite nearly 2 miles being on their properties. The trail follows a long boardwalk bridge through wetland to cross Willow Road then navigates an undeveloped gully between private property to reach North Madison Road.
Heading north: 0.2 mile road walk to the Timberland Preserve
Heading south: East River Preserve
Note: Google Maps has a marker for GLCT Eastwoods at the north end of this section at North Madison Road. As far as I can tell this last section is actually unnamed and I’ve chosen to lump it in with Nut Plains Woods. Eastwoods is east of the East River Preserve off Podunk Road and does not contain a section of the NET.
